John DeSimone -- Freelance Writer, Editor, and Novelist

I've been working as a freelance writer and editor since 1999. I enjoy working with writers to assist them in revising and polishing their work.

From 1999 to 2004 I worked as a Senior Fiction Editor with A-1 Editing Services in Oregon, working primarily with beginning novelists helping them perfect their fiction craft, improve their overall writing skills, and developing revision strategies in order to successfully complete a rewrite of their work.

Since 2004 I've been the director of the OC Christian Writers Conference held annually each spring in Irvine, California. During this time the conference has grown to a become one of the largest one-day inspirational conferences in California. In 2011 over 250 were in attendance at Mariners Church in Irvine to hear a diverse panel of writers, agents and editors from major Christian publishers.

In 2004 I graduated from Spalding University with an MFA in Creative Writing. In 2005 my first novel, Leonardo's Chair, came out with River Oak Publishers.

Since 2008 I've held the position of adjunct professor at Biola University where I teach freshman composition. It's a fantastic experience working with college students, teaching and motivating them to write with excellence and precision.

As a co-author and ghost writer I've worked with a variety of professionls to complete their writing projects. As an editor I enjoy helping authors shape their book. As a writer I work closely with clients to get their story on paper. If you're looking for a writer or an editor please look around at my services. I would be glad to discuss your writing project with you.
